The Information We Collect
When you visit Kadoo you provide us with two types of information: (i) personal information that you knowingly choose to disclose to Kadoo and (ii) information that is collected by Kadoo as you use Kadoo's Service. In addition, when you become a Registered User, as defined in Kadoo's Terms of Service, you provide us with certain personal information (such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, gender, and schools attended and your preference information).
When you use Kadoo's Service, Kadoo collects information relating to your browser type and Internet Protocol (IP) address. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using cookies. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that Users, as defined in Kadoo's Terms of Service, are logged in, which terminate once the User closes the browser. By default, we also use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you used Kadoo's Service. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature.
You post Content, as defined in Kadoo's Terms of Service, at your own risk. Although Kadoo allows you to set privacy options that limit access to your Content, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Kadoo cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your Content. Therefore, Kadoo cannot, and does not, guarantee that your posted Content will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. Also, Kadoo is not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained in its Service. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of your Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your Content.
Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on Kadoo is a violation of the Kadoo's Terms of Service and should be reported to email@example.com. vIf you use our invitation service to tell a friend about Kadoo's services, Kadoo will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. Kadoo will store this information to automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the Website, to register your friend if your invitation is accepted, and to track the success of Kadoo's referral program. Your friend may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request that Kadoo remove this information from its database.
Kadoo may also collect information about you from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other Users through the operation of Kadoo's Service (e.g., photo tags) in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience.
By using Kadoo, you are consenting to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.
Children Under the Age of 13
Kadoo does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to become Registered Users. If you are under the age of 13, please do not attempt to become a Registered User or send any information about yourself to Kadoo (including your name, address, telephone number, or email address). No one under the age of 13 may provide any personal information to Kadoo or on Kadoo's Services. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under the age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that Kadoo might have any information from or about a person under the age of 13, please contact us at email@example.com.
Children Between the Ages of 13 and 18
Kadoo requests that minors over the age of 13 ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet.
Use of Information Obtained by Kadoo
When you become a Registered User, you create your own profile, manage your privacy settings and sharing controls, and post Content. You specify how you wish to share this information and Content by using Kadoo's privacy settings and sharing controls. Kadoo may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding new Services offered by Kadoo that we think you may find valuable.
Your profile information (i) is used by Kadoo primarily to present it back to you for review and editing when you access Kadoo's service, (ii) is available to others who you have permitted to view such information by using your privacy settings and sharing control, and (iii) is available to Users who you have permitted to view such information by using your privacy settings and sharing control who belong to Kadoo Community to which you belong. In addition, other Users may be able to view your profile or Content and comment on or rate it to the extent that you have permitted such action by using your privacy settings and sharing control.
If you set your privacy settings or sharing controls to share your name, network names, and profile avatar, this information will be available in search results across the Kadoo network and may be made available to third party search engines. This is primarily so your friends can find you and send an invitation request. People who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your profile information unless they have a relationship to you via the sharing controls or based on your privacy settings.
Kadoo may send you Service-related notifications from time to time through the general operation of the Service. For instance, if a friend sends you a new message, shares a photo or someone wishes to chat with you, you may receive an email or other form of notification alerting you to that fact. Generally, you may opt out of receiving such notification email by using your privacy settings, though Kadoo reserves the right to send you notifications about your account even if you opt out of all voluntary email notifications.
Kadoo may share information in your profile with third parties without identifying you as an individual. We do this for purposes such as aggregating how many Users like a university announcement, a band, or a movie and personalizing advertisements and promotions. Kadoo believes that this benefits you while also protecting your privacy. For example, if you put a favorite movie in your profile, Kadoo might serve you an advertisement highlighting a screening of a similar movie in your town. Kadoo will not, however, tell the advertiser who you are.
Kadoo may use information about you that it collects from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other Users through the operation of Kadoo's Service (e.g., photo tags) to supplement your profile information. Kadoo generally allows you to specify in your privacy settings or via sharing controls that you do not want this to be done or to take other actions that limit the connection of this information to your profile.
Sharing Your Information with Third Parties
Kadoo is about sharing your information and Content in the way you want and with whom you want. Kadoo's Services provide you with privacy settings and sharing controls that can restrict other users from accessing your information and Content. Kadoo's product architecture, your privacy settings, and your sharing controls allow you to make informed choices about who has access to your information and Content.
• Kadoo's sharing controls provide you with the ability to limit access to site information generated by third party search engine crawlers (e.g. Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask).
• Kadoo may provide information to service providers to help Kadoo bring you its Service. Specifically, Kadoo may use third parties to facilitate its business, such as to host its Service at a co-location facility for servers, to send out email updates about Kadoo, to remove redundant information from its user lists, to process payments for products or services, to offer an online job application process, or to provide search results or links (including sponsored links). Kadoo's service providers may have access to your personal information for use for a limited time in connection with these offerings and business activities. Where Kadoo utilizes third parties for processing personal information, it implements reasonable contractual and technical protections limiting the use of that information to Kadoo-specified purposes.
• Kadoo may disclose User information (i) pursuant to lawful requests (such as subpoenas or court orders), (ii) in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, (iii) to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the Kadoo's Service or using Kadoo's name, (iv) to prevent imminent bodily harm, or (v) when Kadoo believes it is necessary to protect its interests or property. This disclosure may include sharing User information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.
• Kadoo lets you choose to share information with marketers or electronic commerce providers through sponsored groups or other on-site offers.
• Kadoo may offer stores or provide services jointly with other companies on Kadoo. You can tell when another company is involved in any store or service provided on Kadoo, and Kadoo may share User information with that company in connection with your use of that store or service.
When you use Kadoo's Services, you may set your privacy settings or sharing controls to share certain information with other Users. All such sharing is done at your own risk. Please keep in mind that if you disclose personal information in your profile or when posting comments, messages, photos, videos, or other Content, that information may become publicly available.
